The NGO Ascendances was invited to participate in the 11th and 12th sessions of the Special Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (11th and 12th session Ad Hoc Committee on the Elaboration of Complementary Standards to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination) taking place at the Palais of the United Nations in Geneva from 18th to 29Th of July 2022.
These sessions were conducted under the aegis of its President, Mrs. Kadra Ahmed Hassan, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to the Swiss Confederation.
In response to this invitation, our NGO traveled to Geneva to participate in discussions with representatives of Member States. Our President Max Vaïtilingom-Boyer spoke on several occasions during his working sessions in order to bring the voice of people with albinism within the framework of our partnership with the FASA Foundation:
